What chews to give my dog?
Share
There are so many dog chew options out there, which can make it hard to choose the right chew for your pooch!
Firstly think why you want to get your dog a chew.
Is it going to be used as a boredom buster? Are they an obsessive chewer? Do you want to add a varied treat to their usual faves, do they need extra dental support? or maybe you just want to treat them..
Whatever your reason/s keep that in mind when your browsing.
At Pawsitive Treats all of our chews are natural and each have their own benefits which you can find out below.
Here are 5 chews from our large range of treats...
Lets start with Beef Trachea.
Trachea is a great dental chew that is full of protein which is versatile as you can add other treats to make it even more exciting such as pate or peanut butter. Training treats can be added to the pate or peanut butter so that there are extra scents and tastes to make them go wild for this delicious chew!
Again this treat is full of protein and an almighty dental chew and is superb for obsessive chewers!
When we were at a dog show once, a man bought some treats for his dog and one of the treats was a Camel Skin Roll. His dog was a smaller breed but was a big chewer, so he said well what i'll do is saw it in half. This idea has stuck with me to tell other owners so they don't feel they are restricted with their chew choice! (If you do this, please be careful, or ask someone who can do it for you. We take no responsibility for this, lol).
Next up are Cows Ears with or without fur.
Low fat, high protein and highly digestible. The added benefit of the cows ears with fur is that they act as a natural de-wormer. This doesn't mean you should rely on treats with fur as your usual de-wormer, they instead can help alongside your normal one. This can be especially helpful in colder months when we get a lot of rain and our dogs drink more from puddles and can pick up parasites, the treats can help clear their digestive system.
Beef Tails are a delicious & nutritious chew containing marrow and helps support dental health. They are full of protein and are highly digestible making them a great option for sensitive stomachs.
Olive branch chews are dried, sanded and treated with Olive oil which makes them a great low fat chew and a great alternatives to sticks that you may find out on your walks. These are long lasting boredom busters that support oral health.
